Victoria Smurfit to host this year's IFTAs

She will be the first female host of the event, which is in its seventh year.
Speaking about her role at this year's IFTAs, Smurfit said: "I'm delighted to host this year's Irish Film & Television Awards as it represents a celebration of the very best of Irish screen talent. I'm very flattered and excited to be a part of this terrific event."
Áine Moriarty, CEO of the Irish Film & Television Academy, said: "The Academy is delighted to introduce our first female host for the 2010 awards ceremony."

Actor James Nesbitt and television presenter Ryan Tubridy previously hosted the event.
This year's Irish Film and Television Awards will take place at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin on 20 February.
