Sesame Street star Reed Hall dies

Alaina Reed Hall, the actress known to millions as Olivia Robinson in 'Sesame Street', has died. She was 63.

TVGuide.com reports that Reed Hall's husband Tamim Amini told the Los Angeles Times that his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and passed away last Thursday in a hospital in California.

The actress also starred on Broadway and appeared in 'Hair!', 'Chicago' and was one of the original cast members of the off-Broadway production of 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'.

Her film credits included 'Cruel Intentions' and 'Death Becomes Her' and she appeared in 'ER', 'Friends' and 'Ally McBeal' on television.

She joined 'Sesame Street' in 1976 as Olivia, a professional photographer and the younger sister of Gordon (Roscoe Orman).
