  • - Roger & Val Have Just Got In
Roger & Val Have Just Got In

    10.00pm BBC Two

If you missed the first series of this bullseye scripted and wonderfully acted study of relationships don't get left behind again. Arguably doing the best work of their careers, Dawn French and Alfred Molina play the 20-years-together couple who inevitably try to sort out love, jobs and grub in the first half-hour after they turn the key in the door. Along with the misfit laughs, there are plenty of I-think-I-may-have-something-in-my-eye moments, and those who value the little things will find themselves in Aladdin's Cave here. Episode one finds Roger and Val returning from a family wedding and discovering there's a new mountain to climb.

  • - Kevin Bridges: What's The Story?
    Kevin Bridges: What's The Story?

    10.45pm BBC One

Further proof of the comedy clout Scotsman Bridges has achieved at just 25 comes with this six episode man-behind-the-gags series - and it sounds like a midweek winner. We'll see Bridges going back home to Clydebank - where we meet his folks and former teachers - join him on a package holiday to Benidorm and also get front row seats for stand-up gigs in two unusual locations: Utah and his old school. Frank Skinner, Jack Dee, Sarah Millican, Mickey Flanagan and Jack Whitehall will also be telling their tales of the stand-up life.

  • - Rásaí na Gaillimhe
    Rásaí na Gaillimhe

    9.30pm TG4

Another chance to have a rummage around in the Irish psyche, as the IFTA-winning series returns for a second season. This race week finds politician Ultan Keane (Don Wycherley), that champion of "the ordinary decent people who eat their dinner in the middle of the day", fighting for his career while two other rogues from series one are doing time - and having a nice time of it. We're told to expect breakouts, stag parties, new characters and bigger laughs out West in the coming weeks.

  • - Alcatraz Breakout: New Evidence
    Alcatraz Breakout: New Evidence

    9.00pm National Geographic

The 1962 escape by Frank Lee Morris and brothers' John and Clarence Anglin from The Rock is one of the most fascinating 'what if' stories of the 20th century. Did they drown or - or as the classic 1979 Clint Eastwood-starring movie suggested - did they make it all the way? Tonight a coastal engineer and US Marshals study the still-open case and we hear about a deathbed confession, human remains, a postcard from Argentina and much, much more. Prepare for lengthy web trawling afterwards.

  • - Operation Transformation
    Operation Transformation

    8.00pm RTÉ One

As waistlines continue to shrink - over six stone left behind at time of writing - and with the catwalk only two weeks away, the end of the leaders' Curragh chaffing is in sight. Sgt Mulcahy, however, still has some treats for them. Elsewhere, we visit the Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital to find out about Petrice's pregnancy and the Count Me In campaign gets political.
