Curly for Coronation Street return?

The 48-year-old actor, who played geeky Curly for 20 years, is rumoured to have a lead role in the show's 50th anniversary celebrations next year, but he told BBC London 94.9FM's breakfast show he doesn't know if the reports are true.
Kevin said: "The thing is, like any kind of weird sort of wonderful situation, you work for a big company and the actor is probably the last person to know what's going on - no one's said anything to me."
He also revealed there had been plans for Curly to return to the Street as a jail bird.
Kevin said: "There were a few ideas floating around for the character to come back and one of the ideas is that he actually comes out of jail where the viewers actually see that but obviously the rest of the residents of 'Coronation Street' don't know a) that he's been in jail and b) what for.
"Whereas the viewers, like most very good soap storylines, are in on it but the other characters aren't. And I don't know what happened to that idea, that was one of the ideas that was being floated around and that was a while back."
A 'Coronation Street' spokesperson said: "There have currently been no discussions between producers and Kevin Kennedy."
