Dermot O'Leary wants Rose of Tralee gig
Tuesday 11 August 2009In an interview with the RTÉ Guide, the TV presenter talked about the possibility of working on a project in Ireland:
"I'm waiting to hear when they're going to give me that Rose of Tralee gig because it hasn't happened yet."
"They need a bit of new blood in there. I like Ray D'Arcy - he's a nice guy, but come on, I'm waiting in the wings here Ireland - RTÉ get in touch!"
This is O'Leary's third year at the helm of the 'The X Factor', and he thinks the drama between the judges has settled down from previous seasons.
"You have Louis and Dannii at each other and you have Louis and Simon at it too. But Louis has made a real effort this year."
"There was never that much going on between Cheryl and Dannii, so I don't know where that came from; I guess it's a lazy tag to give to them because it's two women.
"During the day-to-day running of the show, everyone gets on fine and we're all friends but when they get to the studio they all want to kill each other because they want to win - they all have giant egos!"
