Thomas shortlisted for Book Awards

Thomas is shortlisted for her book 'Off the Beaten Track' in the Irish Newcomer of the Year category.

The other nominees for Irish Newcomer of the Year are: Celine Kiernan ('The Poison Throne'), Ronan O'Brien ('Confessions of a Fallen Angel') and Kevin Power ('Bad Day in Blackrock').
The nominees for Irish Novel of the Year are: Sebastian Barry ('The Secret Scripture'), Hugo Hamilton ('Disguise'), Joseph O'Neill ('Netherland') and David Park ('The Truth Commissioner').
Barry and O'Neill are also nominated for RTÉ Radio 1's 'The Tubridy Show' Listeners' Choice Award and are joined by Aravind Adiga ('The White Tiger'), Rebecca Miller ('The Private Lives of Pippa Lee'), Anita Shreve ('Testimony') and Kate Summerscale ('The Suspicions of Mr Whicher').
The nominees for Popular Fiction Book of the Year are: Cecelia Ahern ('The Gift'), Maeve Binchy ('Heart and Soul'), Cathy Kelly ('Lessons in Heartbreak'), Marian Keyes ('This Charming Man'), Ross O'Carroll-Kelly ('Mr S and the Secrets of Andorra's Box') and Patricia Scanlan ('Forgive and Forget').
Members of the public can vote for their favourite book in these and other categories on RTÉ Radio 1's The Tubridy Show website and the Irish Book Awards website from Wednesday, 8 April.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Dublin on Wednesday, 6 May.
