Banjo and fiddle bringing out the best in each other

That unexpected feeling of joy that comes with wandering off the street into a venue and seeing an unfamiliar band sharing magic can sometimes be summoned up by something as unglamorous as a CD. It happens here - a lot.

Now on their second album, London-based the Southern Tenant Folk Union do rough-around-the-edges country and bluegrass with a swagger and charm that you need a miner's helmet to find these days.

You pays your money and you get great stories of lovers wronged, messy lives and days of reckoning, banjo and fiddle bringing out the best in each other and a basic-but-perfect production which says the live shows are something else.

If you've had your fill of 'The Seeger Sessions', wander in here.
