Twenty Major hangs up his keyboard
Wednesday 1 October 2008Speaking exclusively to RTÉ.ie, Twenty said: "I think there's only so much you can achieve with certain characters in one format and I wanted to ensure that people's memories of the blog weren't tainted by it dragging on too long."
He added: "Someone in the comments made the comparison to 'The Simpsons' [the longest running TV series] - not that I'm suggesting I've been that good - but it's now a shadow of its former self and I would have hated for that to happen with Twenty Major. But there's a forum on the site now for people to use."
Twenty was the first Irish blogger to be given a book deal and last year he published 'The Order of the Phoenix Park'.
The good news for Twenty fans is that his next book is underway: "I'm in the final stages of completing the second book 'Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder'.
"It should be out in February/March of next year and it does allow the characters to do more than they could on the blog, so who knows, there might be more books."
