Usher rehires his mum
Thursday 7 August 2008According to Us Magazine, the singer ended his 15-year professional relationship with his mother's record label, JPat Records, just days before Mother's Day in the US.
The new father, 29, replaced his mum, Jonnetta Patton, with manager Benny Medina, who is partly responsible for the careers of stars such as Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez.
However after disappointing sales of his new album 'Here I Stand', the star has officially announced that his mother will be resuming her role in charge of his career.

Usher's former manager, Medina, insisted the decision was made on good terms and speaking to People.com said: "I had a great time and we parted ways amicably."
'Here I Stand' debuted at Number One on the US Billboard charts in May but sold just 433,000 copies in its first week, compared to his 2004 album 'Confessions', which sold over 1.1m CDs..
Speaking about his son, Usher Raymond V, Usher told Vibe magazine: "My son completes me. He changes my perspective on what life is, and what matters."
