U2 on the Late Late Show tonight

U2, Andrea Corr, The Dubliners, Sinéad O'Connor and Kíla are among the acts confirmed to perform the specially composed 'Ballad of Ronnie Drew', which is released as a digital download today and as a CD single on 29 February.
All profits from the release of the single will go to the Irish Cancer Society at the request of Ronnie Drew.
Tonight's performance is the first time that the song, written by Robert Hunter (Grateful Dead) with Bono, The Edge and Simon Carmody, has been aired on Irish television.
Commenting on tonight's show, host Pat Kenny said: "This will be an unmissable one-off performance of a very special song by some of our most talented and most famous musicians. It's another first for 'The Late Late Show'."
Of the song, Bono said: "The idea was that we would all try to write a song for Ronnie to sing, but then it changed to writing a song about Ronnie himself. Ronnie is like the King of Ireland, and we are his subjects. This is a big fight for him. But like any fighter, it's easier if there's a crowd cheering."
'The Late Late Show' begins on RTÉ One tonight at 9.30pm.

RTÉ Two - The Thick of It
With a script that makes Yes Minister sound like Wanderly Wagon and a villain that makes House of Cards' scheming politician look like a pussycat, Armando Ianucci's scary satire, The Thick of It (also made into a movie) is one the funniest shows on TV. Tonight the General Election is imminent, as is, at least according to the word in the corridors of power, the political demise of Malcolm (a spitting, foul-mouthed tour de force from Peter Capaldi). Don't bet on it, though.

A chef (Aldo Zilli) looks at how food affects sleeping patterns and record-breaking round-the-world yachtswoman Dee Caffari gives some tips on catnaps.

TG4 - The Wire
We're down to the wire (hah!) with the very final episode of one of the very best TV shows from the past decade. It's a repeat but David Simon's labyrinthine tale of a crime riddled Baltimore - a bleeding patchwork of police, gangsters, politicians and journalists - is a classic of modern noir. Tonight, in an episode simply titled 30, the wake for yet another fallen police officer sets up a shaky future for the city.

C4 - Cha'Mone!
A man in a rubber mask (Leigh Francis) gives us his spitting image version of Michael Jackson's life, as related by other luminaries. Is he serious? Is this even funny? If you thought that Francis's limply written Bo'Selecta sketches were redeemed by those ludicrous masks and makeovers, then you might just fancy this reheated hash with cameo 'appearances' from Craig David, Mel B, Uri Geller and Kanye West.

RTÉ Two - CSI
The CSI crew arrive at the aftermath of a gunfight in a gun store (oops!). There are two murder victims - a woman with a gun in her hand and another John Doe, also nose down on the concrete. There is one survivor and a suspicious set of bloody handprints. CSI is a Larry Fishburne vehicle now, but really, it's just like Miss Marple but with lots more ketchup. You'd expect that from a show in which one of the supervising producers is called Rambo.
