Stars to attend Dublin Film Festival
Wednesday 30 January 2008Day-Lewis, who is up for the Best Actor Oscar, will attend a gala screening of his latest movie 'There Will Be Blood'.
He will be joined by writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson at the Savoy screening on 16 February.
Other stars set to attend the festival include Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson.
The two Irish actors will be at the Irish premiere of their new film 'In Bruges' with writer/director Martin McDonagh. The film will open the festival on 15 February.
Other highlights over the 10-day event include Woody Allen's 'Cassandra's Dream'; the European premiere of U2's 'U23D' and documentaries and features on Joy Division, Maria Callas and Liam Ó Maonlaí and 'Savage Grace', starring Julianne Moore.
The festival will close with the World Premiere of Declan Recks' adaptation of Eugene O'Brien's acclaimed play 'Eden'.
Presenting over 100 features from 33 countries, the festival will also feature a mix of World, European and Irish Premieres, special guests and Q&As, as well as discussions and lectures.
The festival has been programmed by new director Grainne Humphreys.
Tickets will be available online at www.dubliniff.com and from the box office from 30 January. The box office is located at Filmbase in Dublin's Temple Bar.
