Beyoncé and Foo Fighters Say Yes to Grammys

The Recording Academy in the US, which organises the event, has issued a statement quoting Beyoncé and the Foo Fighters confirming their attendance at the event, scheduled to take place on 10 February in Los Angeles.
Beyoncé's music manager, her father Mathew Knowles, said: "The work of The Recording Academy is vital to the music industry, and we have every intention of being with the entire music community to celebrate the Grammy's 50th birthday in February."
He continued: "Beyoncé, as well as my other artists, Solange and Trinitee 5:7, have been asked to participate and will do so. We have an incredible Beyoncé performance that will be announced soon. We wish the Grammys the best."
It is still unclear if the Writers Guild of America strike will affect the event.
Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters said: "We're participating in 'My Grammy Moment' because it creates opportunities. Opportunities to write, compose, play and study music - skills that absolutely need to be passed on to generations to come."
Grohl continued: "And thanks to 'My Grammy Moment,' a musician from that next generation is going to get the chance to audition on YouTube to play with us at the Grammys as part of our orchestra."
The Recording Academy, as well as leaders of the American Federation of Musicians and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, has urged the Writers Guild of America to accept a waiver from the show's producers to allow striking writers to work on the show.
