Jolie, Pitt's daughter may need hip op
Thursday 13 September 2007The couple are reportedly considering the operation which could cure the two-year-old's hip dysplasia, a congenital condition.
The condition means the tot's thigh is connected to the hip improperly and may affect her ability to walk in the future. According to US reports, Zahara needs braces to help re-set her limbs.
A source tells the Star magazine, the couple "will do whatever it takes" to ensure their child is "happy and healthy".
The insider adds, "Brad and Angelina have talked with their paediatrician, who told them Zahara may need to have surgery."
Jolie and Pitt adopted Zahara from Ethiopia in 2005 and the little girl has already had a rough ride through life - when the actress adopted her, she was suffering from malnutrition and dehydration and medics also discovered the African tot had a rickets fracture in her arm.
Zahara also reportedly had salmonella poisoning.
