Biscuit bother in Big Brother household
Thursday 16 August 2007The housemates ate a packet of chocolate digestives earlier in the day, despite being told that they had to return all food to Big Brother last Thursday.
Carole was called into the diary room after dinner and told: "Today you left the living room, entered the bedroom, and returned to the living area with a packet of chocolate digestives."
Although she said that she had discovered them when she was moving things, Big Brother took no excuses and sentenced them to basic rations for another week in punishment.
"I didn't realise they were there when I took all my stuff out. When I went back and moved stuff and they were there. And I took them and put them in the back of the drawer and they remained there. The task was over and they were craving stuff so I brought them out," she said.
Ziggy was unhappy with the news and ranted in the diary room: I haven't eaten. I'm a lad. I need to eat."
Earlier in the day biscuits were the cause of a separate brouhaha, when bickering between the group threatened to boil over.
They were discussing how to spend their luxury food budget before being told that it was to be taken away.
Shopping list supremo Carole set to work on the weekly groceries order.
"Get a jar of cookies," heckled Brian as he tried to wrestle some control from the 53-year-old Londoner. Getting no reply, he stormed out of the living area and into the garden.
It was then former boyband heartthrob Ziggy's turn to try and enter the shopping list deliberations.
After a short and terse conversation about the price of apples he too walked out to the garden.
Outside, Brian was still seemingly fuming from his grub snub. "Amanda asked me to write down the list," said Brian, "and then Carole was like 'Well no, we need Jonty to do it'. What's the point of even trying to get involved in the shopping list?"
"Just be calm mate," said Liam, "Try and keep chilled." "It's a nightmare man," added Ziggy.
Brian continued to protest: "I've never once sat down to do the shopping list. I'm sorry I can't add up. I just wanna have noodles. Noodles and kebabs."
In light of the decision by Big Brother to take away the luxury budget, it appears noodles and kebabs will be off the menu for at least another week.

- The Killing
Finally back in touch with Holder, Sarah reviews the case with him. They question why Rosie's backpack was dropped at the Larsen house two weeks after the murder. Was it the killer intending to torture the family, or was it a witness who felt remorse for not having come forward? Is it the same individual as the person with the Ogi Jun tattoo who was with Rosie on the Super 8 footage and who was also caught on the security camera at the Beau Soleil fire? Sarah and Holder stake out Janek's place and realise that Stan has apparently renewed his connection with the Polish mob. Still partially working outside the system, Sarah calls on a friend at the FBI to get more information about Janek and comes up with a new lead.

This second programme in the series about the history of football (the English kind!) examines life after independence as the FAI found itself with a mountain to climb to earn the right to call the national team 'Ireland'. The struggle was marked by the uneasy relationship between politics and sport, but the pain and heartbreak of failing to qualify for a major tournament was eased by a booming domestic league, which entered a golden era but would eventually see a decline as eyes turned towards the English game.
