Dublin International Film Festival launched
Thursday 1 February 2007This year's programme features the festival's most extensive line-up of Irish, European and World premieres, with 109 films to be screened from 16 to 25 February.
The festival opens with a screening of the Australian film 'Jindabyne', which will be attended by its star, Gabriel Byrne, who will also take part in a public interview during the festival.
Director and actor Ed Burns will attend the screening of his new film 'The Groomsmen' with his wife, Christy Turlington.
The Thrills, the subject of a new documentary, will attend the screening of their film while Sarah Polley will attend the screenings of her films 'Away From Here' and 'The Secret Life of Words'.
Other films which will be screened at the festival include the George Clooney-starring 'The Good German', The Oscar-nominated documentary 'Deliver Us From Evil', 'The Illusionist' and 'Once', the new film from John Carney, which was among the winners at the Sundance Film Festival last week.
