Moss to design clothes for Topshop
Wednesday 20 September 2006The deal, timed to coincide with London Fashion Week, marks the biggest upswing yet in the model's fortunes, who a year ago was shunned by the industry after being caught on camera snorting what appeared to be cocaine.
"Kate has a unique position as a true fashion icon and I look forward to helping develop "Kate Moss for Topshop" into a global brand," Topshop's owner, retail tycoon Philip Green said in a statement.
The British model sparked rumours of a deal when she appeared at the company's London Fashion Week show on Sunday sitting and giggling next to owner Philip Green
"I have always been a big fan of Topshop and regularly shop there. I love what they stand for and am very excited at the thought of working with them. It's going to be great fun," Moss said in the joint statement.
Pictures of Moss in Topshop clothes which she buys herself ensure the item sells out in days.
Topshop said the collection would launch in spring/summer 2007 across its 308 British stores as well as being available in its international outlet and online on Topshop.com.
