According to reports, James G Robinson, CEO of Morgan Creek Productions, sent the 20-year-old actress a letter last Thursday after she called in sick and did not attend filming for her movie 'Georgia Rule'.

According to People magazine, Mr Robinson's letter cited the star's "all-night heavy partying" as the reason that she could not appear on the set that day.

However, the actress' mother Dina Lohan insisted that she was absent that day because of heat exhaustion. Lindsay Lohan had been taken to hospital earlier in the week, with her spokesperson saying that she was "overheated and dehydrated".

Speaking on US television show 'Access Hollywood', Dina Lohan said: "I don't know him. I can't judge him. I don't think it was a smart thing to do to a young girl."

In an interview with People magazine, she explained her daughter's absence from the set by saying: "On the set it was 105 degrees. And she has bronchial asthma - so any extreme heat or cold, she can't breathe."
