McWilliams will host Leviathan - Dublin's sell-out monthly political cabaret - with special guests and artists from the bill taking part in a live and interactive debate.
Leviathan: Political Cabaret is a cocktail of debate, satire, music and comedy designed to inform and inflame in equal measure.
Some of the questions tackled at the cabaret over the past three years include: "What Next for the US Crusade in the Middle East?", "Is Nuclear Power the Solution to Global Warming?", "Why Should We Celebrate 1916?" and "What Have the Brits Ever Done for Us?".
Leviathan shows have featured live and interactive debate, stand-up comedy, satirical musicals, poetry readings, singer-songwriters, a punk-gospel band and the Langerland.com cartoons.
From 6pm on the Saturday and Sunday of the festival, Leviathan will take over the on-site cinema for two very special shows which will ask expert and entertaining panels some controversial questions.
There will also be musical comedy from Paddy Cullivan and The Camembert Quartet, a three-minute soapbox for people to vent their spleen, performance poetry and the world premiere of a brand new Langerland.com cartoon featuring the voices of Gift Grub's Mario Rosenstock.
Leviathan founder and producer, Naoise Nunn said: "This is a very exciting development for the show. We're delighted to be bringing Leviathan to what is already a thoughtful and civilised festival with a great atmosphere."
The Electric Picnic, Ireland's boutique music festival, takes place from 1 to 3 September. Tickets are priced €175 and are available from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
