Bono to edit The Independent

The paper has signed up to RED, a scheme set up by Bono hopes to persuade big business to use its financial clout to tackle the disease.
American Express, Gap, Converse and Giorgio Armani have already signed up to the partnership.
The Independent editor-in-chief Simon Kelner said that the newspaper was "tremendously excited about this innovative collaboration."
He believes that Bono's edition will be "challenging, ground-breaking and exciting."
The singer and human rights activist is inputting ideas and commissioning articles on the arts, sport, fashion, health, motoring and politics. The newspaper will also include several special features on Africa.
Bono's edition will be published on 16 May and The Independent will donate half its revenues to RED.
