Spears cleared by child welfare authorities
Thursday 13 April 2006Spears' lawyer, Martin Singer, confirmed yesterday that the couple would not be investigated further.
The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services sent someone to speak to the couple after their son Sean Preston was taken to hospital recently.
According to reports the six-month-old baby fell from his high chair and injured his head.
Singer said: "While there was an automatic report by the hospital to the Department of Children and Family Services, DCFS immediately responded and determined there was no problem and no reason to open a formal investigation."
"They determined that the parents were not involved in any injury and that nothing improper was done within the home."
Earlier this year Spears was visited by police after she was photographed driving her car with her baby son on her knee.
She later issued a statement saying that she had "made a mistake" and only pulled away in the car because she felt threatened by aggressive paparazzi.
