Fans of old-school Americana could do a whole lot worse than pick up the new album from Bray Vista. Although this nine-piece band hail from the bright lights of Bray, County Wicklow, rather than the wilds of Appalachia, 'Sing My Darling' is surprisingly authentic-sounding.

Thirteen original songs (plus the hidden title track) from the pen of Neil Tobin meander, in the company of guitars, banjo, mandolin, pedal steel, harmonica and piano, through the vagaries of old-time country-style love. With Tobin and Alison Byrne sharing vocal duties, there are intricate harmonies aplenty, from the sprightly ('Home', 'Slim Pickings') to the soulful ('Your Eyes', 'Still Haunting Me').

Classy - and catchy - country, Bray-style.
