Brad Renfro pleads guilty to drug charges
Friday 24 February 2006The former child star of films such as 'The Client and 'Apt Pupil' avoided a jail sentence but was ordered into a drug treatment programme.
Renfro, 23, was also placed on three years probation, according to a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
Renfro was one of 14 people arrested in a police sting operation aimed at cracking down on drug trafficking in Los Angeles' Skid Row area.
He was discovered at the age of 12 by director Joel Schumacher and was promptly cast in his first film, 'The Client' (1994), starring Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon.
