Corrie star Dawn fine after hospital treatment
Monday 16 January 2006According to reports, 66-year-old Dawn who plays Vera Duckworth in the soap, was treated at a private hospital in Cheadle after Christmas. She was diagnosed with chronic emphysema almost two years ago.
According to the Manchester Evening News, a spokesperson for Granada said: "Liz Dawn is absolutely fine. She had a great Christmas with her family. She has not missed any filming and is in work as planned on Tuesday."
According to reports, Dawn's hospital visit was part of routine management of her disease.
Speaking about her diagnosis in a recent interview, Dawn said: "I'm doing really well."
"I'm just grateful that I have found a fantastic specialist who has been able to sort out my medication so that I can carry on doing what I love, which is being a mum and a grandma and working on 'Coronation Street'."
