Geldof defends role advising Tories

The Liberal Democrats warned Geldof that he may be damaging his reputation by becoming involved with the Conservatives.
Geldof told the Guardian newspaper that he was not thick and if he felt he was being used by the Tories he would walk out.
"I am not giving tacit approval," Geldof said. "What I am trying to do is agree to help formulate a policy that I would agree with."
The party leader, David Cameron, persuaded Geldof to help the Party "go in the direction that he and we both want to go".
"This summer, millions of British people took part in the Make Poverty History campaign," added Cameron.
"A new generation of concerned citizens want prosperity for themselves and progress for the poor, whether living on the other side of the street or the other side of the world."
Geldof has been criticised in the past by third world campaigners for being too close to the Labour government in Britain.
