Davina McCall set to host chat show
Tuesday 6 December 2005The station announced that McCall was due to front the Wednesday evening show as part of its winter/spring schedule for 2006.
BBC1 Controller Peter Fincham said: "There aren't many chat shows with hosts that are women and this is very exciting for us."
Speaking about the show's host, he said: "I think Davina is rather special and viewers really like her. I'm really glad she's here."
"We think that's a rather exciting thing to do, it's exciting to do a chat show that isn't hosted by a man."
During the initial eight-week run of the show, McCall will be joined by singer Charlotte Church, comedian Peter Kay and former 'EastEnders' star Nigel Harman.
