Police deny paparazzi caused Lohan crash

Speaking yesterday, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Luis Castro said the accident was caused by a motorist who made a illegal turn in front of Lohan's car.
Initial media reports suggested that the actress had been trying to avoid paparazzi who were chasing her car. Four months ago the actress also crashed her car when trying to evade a photographer.
However, Castro said: "It appears it's the van's fault for making an illegal U-turn. At this time, we've ruled out that any paparazzi played a part in the accident, and speed was not a factor."
Castro confirmed that Lohan's car was travelling at a speed of approximately 35 mph and also said that no alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident.
Lohan and her passenger were taken to a hospital nearby, where they were both treated for minor injuries.
