Sony/BMG - 2005 - 43 minutes

There's a lot to be said for simplicity in music. Sometimes an acoustic guitar and somebody singing a catchy melody is all you need to enjoy an album. That's what you get with Natalie Imbruglia's latest, and it's a nice listen.

Opening with the well-intentioned 'Starting Today', the album moves into the easy-going first single 'Shiver'. Both tracks are among Imbruglia's best songs, alongside her earlier hits 'Wrong Impression' and 'Torn'.

The more up-tempo 'Counting Down the Days' and the lovely 'I Won't Be Lost' are the other highlights on an album that's primarily about love. There isn't anything spectacular about this offering, but the pop harmonies and catchy lyrics ensure you'll be singing along despite yourself.

'Counting Down the Days' is a solid collection from one of Australia's best musical exports.
