RTE show revenue to go to Tsunami Crisis
Sunday 9 January 2005The revenue excluding taxes from the votes by text or phone - mobile or landline - is to go to three Irish charities, Concern, Trócaire and Goal, involved in the Tsunami crisis.
This follows an agreement between RTÉ, the production company Screentime/Shinawil, service providers Esat BT and Phonovation, and telecom operators Eircom, Meteor, O2 and Vodafone
Five of tonight's six acts were voted through to the next stage of the competition. They were: Jade, Donna and Joseph McCaul, George, David Hope and Ann Harrington.
David Hope from Shannon topped the poll, but 20 year-old Dubliner Sinead Hand was voted out of the show as she received the least number of votes.

Golf is one sport that looks amazing on TV, so here's another treat for couch potatoes. Hazel Irvine presents live coverage of the fourth and final round at Wentworth. Last year's final day culminated in a dramatic play-off between Luke Donald and Lee Westwood, and it was the former who emerged victorious to take the world number one spot off his compatriot. With so many Europeans dominating the top of the World rankings, viewers can expect a tight contest (and maybe an Irish win).
