James Joyce love letter for auction

The letter - considered to be the missing link in a series of erotic exchanges over a month in 1909 - is part of an archive of possessions and documents being sold by the descendants of Joyce's brother Stanislaus.
According to the Telegraph, this letter, one of three love letters for sale, is expected to make from £50,000 to £60,000.
Also up for sale is the signed first edition of 'Ulysses' that Joyce gave Stanislaus. It is expected to fetch up to £100,000.
A report in Sunday's Observer newspaper indicates that the sale of the letter may yet be blocked by the author's grandson Stephen Joyce and his wife, Solange, who own copyright over all Joyce's writings.
Solange Joyce said: "We're not pleased, to say the least. Those letters are strictly personal and private, and for a member of the family. They have no literary or historical significance."
