Copyright bill is passed by Seanad
Thursday 27 May 2004The writer's grandson, Stephen Joyce, had warned that if the State went ahead with the exhibition of Joyce documents, that his copyright would be breached.
The Copyright and Related Rights Bill 2004 now provides for the right to exhibit artistic works without affecting copyright.
The Bill now goes to the Dáil.
In related Joyce news, 15 Usher's Island, the house mentioned in his short story 'The Dead' will be officially unveiled by the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern and Royston Brady, Lord Mayor of Dublin next Monday, 31 May.
