Surprise Globe wins for The Office
Monday 26 January 2004'The Office' saw off competition from the likes of 'Sex and the City' and 'Will and Grace' to win the award for Best TV Series - Musical or Comedy.
The show's creator and star, Ricky Gervais, was the shock winner of the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Series award.
'Angels in America' was the major winner in the TV categories with five awards, including the award for Best Mini-Series.
Its stars, Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, Mary-Louise Parker and Jeffrey Wright won all the acting awards in the Mini-Series category.
Anthony Lapaglia ('Without a Trace') and Frances Conroy ('Six Feet Under') took home the Best Actor and Actress awards for a drama series.
Sarah Jessica Parker won the Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy series award for 'Sex and the City'.
