Jackson lawyers want easing of gag order
Wednesday 21 January 2004When the court case began on Friday, Judge Melville barred everyone involved from talking about it in an attempt to avoid prejudicing their cases.
He also ruled that cameras would not be allowed in the courtroom.
Jackson's lawyer Mark Geragos and Prosecutor Tom Sneddon asked to be allowed to refute media reports that might be prejudicial to a jury
The 45-year-old singer has been charged seven counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 and two of plying a child with alcohol. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the cancer-stricken boy who instigated the accusations is in very poor health.
