Dublin show for The Sugarhill Gang
Tuesday 23 December 2003Big Bank Hank, Wonder Mike, and Master Gee were one of the first rap groups to record a single, releasing the Chic sampling 'Rapper's Delight' in 1979.
It became a worldwide hit, eventually selling more than eight million copies.
The Sugarhill Gang, who recorded for Sugar Hill Records, opened the record industry doors for hip-hop groups with songs like '8th Wonder', then 'Apache' and 'Showdown', featuring Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five.
Tickets for The Sugarhill Gang at The Village are €24 and are on sale now from Road Records, Soundcellar, Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide.
