RTE's Cabin Fever sets sail today

The ten contestants of RTE's new reality TV show 'Cabin Fever' have begun their journey aboard their 90-foot ship today.

The group of sailors, comprised of five women and five men, set off from Dublin and are heading north towards Belfast for the first leg of their eight-week journey.

The ten are competing for the chance to win €100,000 while trying to avoid being eliminated and forced to walk the plank.

The show is a follow-up to last year's 'Treasure Island' and each week the contestants will have to navigate the ship as well as performing various tasks to earn treats.

'Cabin Fever' goes on air on RTE 1 on Sunday June 8.
