Brian Wilson - Pet Sounds Live

Sanctuary - 2002 - 43 minutes

Just a couple of months after the release of his 'Live at the Roxy' opus and triumphant European jaunt, comes a touching souvenir of Brian Wilson's stint at London's Royal Festival Hall.

While 'Pet Sounds' has never been released before as a bona fide live album, this finds the creator and his many cohorts playing a tasteful set that will have even the most hard to please Beach Boys' fan reaching for the original to bring the experience full circle.

The versions of 'God Only Knows' and 'Wouldn't It Be Nice' you'll come back to again and again, and while the production is very dry and some of the high notes just don't have that something, this album completely avoids the canned ambience which has damned many a live recording in the past. Any chance of a DVD?
