Moulin Rouge and Beautiful Mind top Globes
Monday 21 January 2002The prizes are the second most important in Hollywood and are seen as an indicator of possible Oscar winners.
'A Beautiful Mind' earned four trophies: Best Actor for Russell Crowe, Best Dramatic Film, Best Screenplay for Akiva Goldsman, and Best Supporting Actress for Jennifer Connelly.
Three Golden Globes went to 'Moulin Rouge': Best Actress for Nicole Kidman, Best Film Musical or Comedy and Best Original Musical Score for Craig Armstrong.
Sissy Spacek won Best Dramatic actress for 'In the Bedroom', while Best Director went to Robert Altman 'Gosford Park'.
Gene Hackman was named Best Actor in a Comedy Film for his performance in 'The Royal Tenenbaums', while Jim Broadbent won Best Supporting Actor for his role opposite Dame Judi Dench in 'Iris'.
Sting won Best Film Song for 'Until', from the comedy 'Kate and Leopold' and The Cecil B DeMille award for a lifetime's achievement went to Harrison Ford.
'Sex and the City won the award for Best Television Comedy.
The awards are picked by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
