Andrea Corr for 'Dr Zhivago' role
Thursday 21 June 2001Other actresses being considered for the part of Lara in 'Dr Zhivago' are Anna Friel and Kate Winslet.
Andrea Corr has previously appeared in the films 'The Commitments' and 'Evita'.
The original 'Dr Zhivago' starred screen legend Omar Sharif in the title role, with Julie Christie as Lara.
It was adapted by David Lean from the classic Boris Pasternak novel; the television remake for ITV has been re-adapted by 'Pride and Prejudice' scriptwriter Andrew Davies.
Andrea Corr is a member of the Irish band The Corrs, who have scored a string of chart hits including 'Runaway' and 'So Young'.
