Conor Lyne exited the men’s giant slalom after a fall in his first run in Sochi this morning.

Lyne was one of 25 competitors not to finish in the 106-man field.

He had been hampered by a shoulder injury in the build-up to the event.

Lyne tweeted afterwards: "I'm disappointed that I didn't make it to the finish today.

"However, I'm happy I made it to the start. I'm proud that I'm an Olympian now."
