The Dallas Cowboys remained top of the NFC East after a crushing 31-7 victory over the St Louis Rams on Sunday.

DeMarco Murray rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown while Tony Romo threw for three scores in a one-sided encounter.

Terence Newman scored a late touchdown as the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Green Bay Packers 34-30 in a mistake-ridden game.

Newman returned a fumble 58 yards for a TD with 3:47 left to give the Bengals the win.

The Bengals blew a 14-point lead, and the Packers let a 16-point lead get away in the second half.

Tom Brady turned in another masterclass to guide the New England Patriots to a 23-3 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The star quarterback threw two touchdown passes to Kenbrell Thompkins with Aaron Dobson, a second-round draft pick, also finishing with seven catches for 52 yards.

Jordan Cameron caught three touchdown passes, including the go-ahead effort with 51 seconds left, as the Cleveland Browns beat the Minnesota Vikings 31-27.

Drew Brees passed for three scores and scrambled for New Orleans' first touchdown rushing of the season, leading the Saints to a 31-7 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

The Tennessee Titans beat the San Diego Chargers 20-17, the Detroit Lions overcame the Washington Redskins 27-20, the Carolina Panthers thrashed the New York Giants 38-0 and the Baltimore Ravens overcame the Houston Texans 30-9.

In the other games, Miami Dolphins beat Atlanta Falcons 27-23 while Seattle Seahawks thrashed Jacksonville Jaguars 45-17.

Indianapolis Colts came through 27-7 against the San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets edged out Buffalo Bills 27-20 and Chicago Bears beat Pittsburgh Steelers 40-23.
