Nixon wins first Irish junior world rowing medal

Ireland has taken its first ever medal at the World Rowing Junior Championships this morning.
Holly Nixon, from the Portora club in Enniskillen, took silver in the lightweight single scull at Dorney Lake, the site for next year's Olympic Games.
Germany's Anne Beenken won the race, with Nixon closing fast on her at the finish.
Ireland's Paul O'Donovan came within .32 of a second of taking bronze in the men's single scull.
The Skibbereen man mounted a terrific challenge in the closing stages of a race won by Stephan Riemekasten of Germany.
Greece, Ukraine and Ireland were covered by .68 of a second in places two to four.
