Sebastien Ogier made it back-to-back wins in the World Rally Championship with a comprehensive victory in Mexico today.

The Frenchman dominated the race in his Volkswagen and finished with a victory margin of three minutes 28.9 seconds on the gravel course.

Building on his success in Sweden last time out, Ogier extended his lead at the top of the Drivers' Championship having won six of seven stages yesterday and adding another success today on the Power Stage.

Finland's Mirko Hirvonen was second in his Citroen with Belgian Thierry Neuville (Ford) enjoying his first podium finish in third.

However, the race belonged to Ogier and he told www.rallymexico.com: "We have to take each win when it comes.

"This is an amazing start to the season for us.

"We had a small scare this morning with a sensor but we are at the end with the perfect amount of points. Now we have a quite good lead in the championship."

Dani Sordo of Spain was fourth ahead of Qatar's Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah and Australian Chris Atkinson.

Portugal will host the next race in the championship in April.
