Oulart The Ballagh are through to the Leinster Club hurling final after securing a one-point win over Kilkenny champions Ballyhale Shamrocks at Wexford Park.
The Wexford side were slow out of the traps in this re-fixed game, and trailed 1-03 to 0-00 after only five minutes, Colin Fennelly netting for Ballyhale.
But the Kilkenny side, who lost Henry Shefflin to an ankle injury in the first half, couldn’t maintain the pace, and when Garrett Sinnott netted for Oulart, there were just three points between the sides at the break.
Ballyhale only managed a single point in the second half and, after Nicky Kirwan levelled with ’65, Oulart wing-back Eoin Moore proved to be the hero, scoring a late point which earned the Wexford side a place in the Leinster final against Offaly’s Kilcormac-Killoughey.
In the All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship, Fullen Gaels, from Warwickshire, beat Sligo’s Calry-St Joseph's by 0-17 to 0-11.
Elsewhere, Port Mór of Armagh had a 2-09 to 0-11 win over Tyrone's Brackaville to claim the Ulster Junior Football Championship.
