Flyweight Michael Conlan advanced to the quarter-finals of European Championships in Minsk after defeating Narek Abgaryan on a unanimous points decision.
The judges scored the fight 30-27, 30-27, 30-27 in favour of the Belfast boxer.
Elsewhere, there was disappointment for Irish competitors on Monday as Joe Ward, Ray Moylette and Con Sheehan all lost.
Ward suffered an agonising TKO defeat in Belarus after injuring his knee at the end of the last round.
The light-heavyweight was leading his opponent, Poland's Mateusz Tryc, but fell after two minutes and 40 seconds of the third round.
The Moate boxer was reported to be winning the 81kg fight comfortably before the injury.
Irish physio Conor McCarthy said that Ward had dislocated his left knee cap and they were awaiting the results of an X-ray.
Light-middleweight Ray Moylette lost out to his Turkisk opponent Husseyin Karslioglu on a unanimous verdict - 29-28, 29-28, 29-28.
Con Sheehan's also exited on a split decision against Georgia's Mikheil Bakhtidze 29-28, 29-28, 30-27 in their super-heavyweight clash.
