James McGee beat Mohamed Safwat in straight set as Ireland won their BNP Paribas Euro/Africa Zone Group II Davis Cup relegation play-off with Egpyt in Castleknock.

McGee won 7-5 6-4 6-3 to give Ireland an unassailable advantage in the tie. 

James Cluskey and Sam Barry won the doubles rubber on Saturday to put Ireland on the cusp of the victory.
