Castleknock Lawn Tennis Club has been chosen for Ireland’s Davis Cup match with Finland in April.

The Europe/Africa Zone Group II second round tie will take place from 5-7 April, with the winners to compete in the promotional play-offs in September against either Monaco or Latvia.

Irish Davis Cup captain Garry Cahill: “We are very excited to be taking Davis Cup to Castleknock for the first time.

“It will be tough against Finland, who are one of the strongest teams in our group but we hope to take advantage of strong home support and we are all looking forward to playing in front of a very vocal crowd.”

Ireland beat Estonia 3-2 in their last outing of the Davis Cup.
