Ireland defeat Tunisia in Davis Cup

Ireland's Barry King has beaten Anis Ghorbel to win the Davis Cup Euro/Africa Zone Group II play-off against Tunisia on a 3-2 scoreline.
King accounted for Ghorbel in straight sets 7-6 6-2 6-1 to claim the 4th singles match and overall victory at David Lloyd Riverview, Clonskeagh.
Earlier on Sunday, Conor Niland defeated Malek Jaziri 7-5 6-4 6-1 in the 3rd singles match. That win left the tie balanced at 2-2 heading into the deciding rubber between King and Ghorbel.
Ireland had previously lost the doubles match on Saturday and had won and lost a rubber in Friday’s 1st and 2nd singles matches.
The victory ensures Ireland are not relegated and consolidate their place in the group for next season.
