Ireland see of Turkish challenge in Davis Cup

Ireland have beaten Turkey in their Davis Cup doubles clash.

James McGee and Barry King won 6-3, 6-1, 6-3 against Haluk Akkayun and Marsel Ilhan in the Euro-Africa Zone, Group Two match at Fitzwilliam Tennis Club.

The doubles win puts Ireland into an unassailable 3-0 lead in the tie.

The victory sets up Ireland for a Davis Cup meeting with the winner of the Great Britain v Lithuania tie.

The match against Great Britain or Lithuania is scheduled to take place one week after the Wimbledon finals.
