Louk Sorenson set to open Davis Cup tie

Australian Open qualifier Louk Sorensen will lead the Irish team order on the first day of the Euro-African Zone Group 2 Davis Cup match against Turkey on Friday afternoon at Fitzwilliam.

He will play the Turkish number two Haluk Akkoyun, who is ranked almost a thousand places lower than Sorensen in the World standings.

That will be followed on court by the second singles involving Conor Niland, ranked 241 in the world against the Turkish number one Marsel Ilhan, ranked 121 in the world.

Non-playing captain Sean Sorensen has selected Barry King and James McGee to play in Saturday's doubles against Ilhan and Akkoyun.

The reverse singles take place on Sunday.
