Ellen Keane added to the Irish medal haul at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Canada as she won bronze in the Women's 100m Breaststroke SB8 Final.

The third place finish represents Keane's first major medal at a World Championships and is a just reward for the 18-year old's effort this week.

Keane shaved over a second off her heat time, finishing the final in a time of 1:23.74.

Russia's Oleysa Vladykina took the gold medal with Claire Cashmore of Great Britain in second.
