Ireland’s Fiona Doyle has finished seventh in the 200 metres breaststroke at the FINA Short Course World Cup meeting in Eindhoven.

Doyle clocked two minutes 27.14 seconds, just over 10 seconds behind Danish long course world record holder Rikke Moeller Perdersen.

The World University Games silver medallist was the seventh-fastest qualifier in this morning’s heats, but couldn’t improve on her time of 2:26.86.

The 21-year-old also competed in the 50m breaststroke, finishing ninth overall in 30.80 and just missing out on a final berth.

Following his bronze medal swim in the 50m breaststroke last night, Barry Murphy was back in the pool this morning for the heats of the 100m breaststroke.

Murphy set a new Irish record of 59.35, shaving .26 off his previous record from 2008 to finish 10th overall.

The 27-year-old was also competing in the 50m freestyle, where he was 12th in a 22.11.
